La Salle Transfer, Staten Islander Nicole Melious Lands at Seton Hall Hoops

After entering the transfer portal on March 19th, La Salle University transfer Nicole Melious has found a new at Seton Hall University Women’s basketball in South Orange, N.J., today the basketball program announced via X.

Melious, a Staten Island native, led the Explores in scoring with a 10.9 points per game average in her freshman season.

Additionally, the 5-foot-8 guard made the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, was fifth in the A-10 with three pointers made and was top 50 in threes made in all of NCAA.

Melious dominated in high school at Staten Island’s Wagner, where she was New York City’s all-time leader scorer, draining 3140 points as a senior. Plus, she was first in the nation with a 43.1 points average, ninth in assists with 8.5, and added 11.1 rebounds per game.

The Pirates posted a 17-15 record and went 8-10 in Big East Conference action in the 2023-24 campaign.
