St. Luke’s High School Standout Emma Sollenne Chooses Mercyhurst for D-1 Basketball

Emma Sollenne of St. Luke’s High School (N.Y.) and Team Lightning Melious 17U squad has verbally committed to Division I Mercyhurst Women’s Basketball program, yesterday she announced via X.

Mercyhurst competed in the NCCA D-2 level in the Northeast 10 Conference last year and will move to D-1 this season.

Emma Sollenne will head to Erie, Pennsylvania, to play hoops after high school graduation.

Sollenne held offers from Division II Mercy College, Belmont Abbey and Barton, as well D-1 Chicago State, per her X account.

Sollenne, a 5-foot-7 athletic, two-way rising senior guard, is a solid outside shooter who can get to the hoop and finish in traffic, according to her AAU coach Dan Melious.

The Lakers put up a 18-11 overall record and went 14-8 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play in the 2023-24 campaign.
