The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Double-A New York Mets) starting pitcher Jonathan Pintaro tossed seven solid innings and outfielders Matt Rudick and Stanley Consuegra paced the Rumble Ponies’ offense in their 8-2 victory over the Reading Fightin Phils (20-28, 51-65) Thursday night at Mirabito Stadium.
The 26-year-old Pintaro (2-2) permitted just one run on two hits with three strikeouts in his second win of the season with Binghamton (25-22, 60-54).
Rudick went 2-for-5 with a double, run scored, and stolen base, while Consuegra enjoyed a 3-for-4 performance with a run batted in and three runs scored.
Junior Santos pitched a scoreless ninth inning to close out the contest for the Rumble Ponies.
Binghamton returns to action against the Fightin Phils tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Mirabito Stadium.
