St. Peter’s Hoops’ Fatmata Janneh Earns MAAC Player of the Week

St. Peter’s Women’s basketball’s (N.J.) Fatmata Janneh earned the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (𝐌𝐀𝐀𝐂) 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 honor after an impressive 25-point, 21-rebound performance in the Peacocks’ 65-60 win over NJIT (2-6) yesterday at home in a non-conference tilt. It was the Peacocks’ (1-6) first victory of the season.

Additionally, the London, England, native shot an impressive 47.8 percent from the field.

Brooklyn’s own, freshman De’Naya Rippey contributed 12 points in the win, nailing 66.6 percent from beyond the arc, while adding eight boards.

 St. Peter’s travels to the University of Pittsburgh Sunday at 1:00 p.m. for another non-conference game at the Petersen Events Center.
