McClancy High School (Queens, N.Y.) Girl’s basketball team picked up two victories this weekend in non-league action.
The Crusaders (5-0) routed Mountain View (Pa.), 54-32, today and New Jersey’s 12th-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas yesterday, 71-62, at Lackawanna College in the Electric City Madness College Showcase, powered by Top Tier Events and Coaches Choice USA, and sponsored by SPEEDLINE.
Senior Syniya Barton led McClancy with 17 points, while Layla Wagner contributed 12 points. Plus, Maleah Wagner scored 10, and Haley Soriano had six points against the Eagles.
Junior forward Addison Kilmer scored a team-high 19 points for Mountain View.
Wagner was squarely on her game Saturday, as she poured in a game-best 30 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished out seven assists and made five steals to pace the Crusaders over the Trojans.
Additionally, Barton enjoyed an impressive tilt as well, as she dropped in 21 points for McClancy.
