Ex-MLBer Aaron Altherr Inks with Cleburne Railroaders Today


Aaron Altherr, a German-born outfielder and ex-MLBer, today has signed with the Cleburne Railroaders of the independent American Association, the league announced via X, formerly known as Twitter.

Altherr, 34, suited up with the Algodoneros de Unión Laguna of the Mexican League in the 2024 season.

Altherr played parts of six seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets and San Francisco Giants, hitting 37 home runs, driving in 150 runs and stealing 21 bases in 1016 at-bats in 359 games.

The Phillies selected Altherr in the 9th round of the 2009 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Agua Fria High School in Avondale, Ariz.
