After recording a 4-2 record with 65 strikeouts and a 2.34 ERA in 50 innings of work in eight games, the Sioux City Explorers have transferred the contract of right-handed pitcher Zach Willeman to the Cincinnati Reds, today the American Association, an MLB Partner League, today the league announced on X.
Last seasons, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound Willeman pitched for the Explorers, recording a 5-4 mark with a 3.42 ERA in 50 frames in 41 contests.
The 29-year-old also pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kansas City Royals and Miami Marlins organizations.
The Dodgers selected Willeman in the 19th round of the 2017 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Kent State University.
