Ex-Mets Minor League Pitcher Nate Peden Joins Gastonia

The Gastonia Ghost Peppers have signed right-handed pitcher Nate Peden, a former New York Mets farmhand, to a contract for the 2026 Atlantic League season, recently the team announced on X.

Peden, 27, posted an impressive 1.46 ERA across 24.2 innings of work in 17 games with the Ghost Peppers in the 2024 season.

Additionally, the Orlando, Florida, native has pitched for the Spire City Ghost Hounds, Charlestown Dirty Birds, Kentucky Wild Health Gnomes, and Lexington Legends–all of which are, or were, with the Atlantic League, an MLB Partner League.

Peden also spent part of 2021 with the Arizona Brewers Blue of the Arizona Complex League (ACL) and the Single-A Carolina Mudcats.

Also, the Mets selected Nate Peden in the 13th round of the 2017 MLB June Amateur Draft out of University High School (Orlando, FL).
