Top Rhode Island Shooting Guard Dywane Chess Chooses Marist


Class of 2026 St. George’s (R.I.) guard Dywane Chess has committed to Division I Marist University Red Foxes Men’s basketball program, today he announced X.

The 6-foot-3 Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, native held several D1 offers from Buffalo, Binghamton, Stony Brook, Fairfield, Hofstra, Albany, Bryant, Holy Cross, according to VerbalCommits.com.

Chess, who played for Middlesex Magic AAU team, is considering to be one of the top high school shooting guards in the country and highest rated in Rhode Island, per basketball scouts.

The Red Foxes put up a 20-10 overall mark and went 13-7 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action in the 2024-25 campaign.
