Long Island Ducks’ Player and Pitcher of the Week: Town and Righty Santos Impress


The Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB), an MLB Partner League, today has announced that outfielder River Town and right-handed reliever Ramon Santos have earned their Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Town batted .350 with five RBI, four runs scored, seven hits, one double, one triple, five walks, four stolen bases, and 1.000 OPS, while Santos recorded two saves with six strikeouts, and no bases on balls in two innings of work.

The Ducks are 70-53 overall, four games back of the first place York Revolution with three games remaining on their schedule against the Lancaster Stormers.

The Stormers and the Gastonia Ghost Peppers claimed second half championships, while High Point Rockers and York Revolution captured first half titles.

The defending ALPB champion York Revolution will open the North Championship Series at home with Lancaster on Saturday, September 20. South Division first half champion High Point will open the South Championship Series at Gastonia on the same day.

Each series will be a best-of-five series and the two winners will advance to the ALPB League Championship Series. The Championship Series will begin on Saturday, September 27 at the site of the North Championship Series winner.
