FerryHawks’ Matt Scheffler Claims 2025 Atlantic League Batting Title

Staten Island FerryHawks Matt Scheffler has won the 2025 Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) batting title with a .347 batting average, today the team announced on X.

Scheffler, 27, added 15 home runs and 61 RBI and slashed an impressive .444/.568/1.012 in 303 at-bats in 84 games with the FerryHawks this past season.

A former Auburn Tigers baseball player, Scheffler spilt the 2024 season with the Arizona Complex League Angels and Triple-A Tacoma Rainers (Seattle Mariners) before landing in Staten Island, where the utility player hit .250 with two longballs and nine RBI in 80 at-bats in 25 contests.

The ALPB is MLB partner league.
