Brooklyn’s Connor Sprattley, a freshman guard, paced Blinn College (Texas/JUCO) with 20 points, as the Buccaneers (1-0) were able to hold off a hard-charging Dallas College Eastfield (0-2) squad, 80-78, to open the season Monday night at home.
Desmeon Jones, another freshman guard, contributed 16 points in the victory.
Sprattley graduated from Thomas Jefferson, where he averaged 28.3 points, 6.36 rebounds, and 8.2 assists in 14 regular season Public School Athletic League (PSAL) games last season. He added 21.85 points, 5.14 boards, and 7.3 helpers in seven PSAL post-season tilts, helping the Orange Wave capture the Class 4A title in 2024-25 campaign.
Blinn travels to Western Texas College Thursday at 4:30 p.m. (CST).
