Canarsie High’s James Singleton Shines in PSAL Boy’s Hoops Thriller Over Wagner

It took an electric game from Canarsie High School (Brooklyn, N.Y.) Boy’s senior shooting guard James Singleton, in which he drained a game-high-tying 22 points to go along with eight assists and six rebounds to help propel the Wolfpack past Wagner, 70-69, Tuesday night on Staten Island in Public School Athletic League (PSAL) Division 4A — Brooklyn/Staten Island II action.

Also, senior forward Devin Clarke contributed 20 points, a game-best 14 points, and three helpers, while junior point guard Christian Marbury added eight points in the victory.

The Falcons led Canarsie, 38-28, at the half. But the Wolfpack battled back, outscoring Wagner, 27-14, in the third quarter to take a 56-52 lead.

While the Falcons upped Canarsie by two points in the final period, it was not enough to surmount the Wolfpack in the end.

Senior Adem Djonbalic led Wagner with 22 points of his own, as well as grabbing three boards in the defeat. Senior Christopher Albano scored 15 points and dished out five helpers, while junior Clevi Hoxha added 12 points.
