Takaes combined to hit .307 with eight homers, 59 RBI, 112 hits, 21 doubles, 60 runs scored, and an .841 OPS in 100 games in 2025.

A tough out for the Ducks last season, Long Island manager Lew Ford said he is happy to have Takacs on their side for this season.

“Aaron is both an outstanding hitter and defender,” Lew Ford said in a press release. “He was incredibly tough to play against last season, so we look forward to having him in our dugout this year.”

Prior to last year, he earned American Association All-Star honors in 2024 with the Lincoln Saltdogs, after putting up a .292 batting average with eight longballs, 52 RBI, 40 runs, 98 hits, 17 doubles, 50 walks, a career-high 23 stolen bases and a .796 OPS.

Before turning professional, the 28-year-old played at Cairn University in Langhorne, Pa., and Montreat College in Montreat, N.C.

Takacs said he is thrilled to join Long Island, where he will be playing alongside gifted teammates in a first-class, winning atmosphere, something his high power has helped him achieve, he noted.

“I’m incredibly excited to join the Long Island Ducks organization, and I’m absolutely blessed by God that He has put me in a place to work with such a talented group of players and staff,” Takacs said. “I’m looking forward to competing in a high-level environment, contributing to the winning culture the Ducks have already built and showcasing the talents My Lord and Savior has blessed me with.”

The Ducks open the Atlantic League season on Tuesday, April 21st at 6.35 p.m. at home against the Flying Boxcars.
