Gavin Collins has been signed by the Long Island Ducks for the 2026 Atlantic League campaign, today the team announced via X.

“Gavin has done a terrific job behind the plate throughout his career,” Ford said in a press release. “We look forward to having him work with our pitching staff as well as see time at the corner infield positions this season.”
Collins played with the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds of the St. Louis Cardinals the past two seasons. Plus, he was a 2023 American Association of Baseball All-Star with the he Kansas City Monarchs, batting 314 with an .897 OPS with 10 homers, 41 RBI, 38 runs scored, 75 hits, 16 doubles, one triple, and 29 walks in 62 games.
The 30-year-old, behind the plate, posted a .991 fielding percentage, and threw out 26 prcent of runners attempting to steal in seven seasons with the Cardinals and Cleveland Indians/Guardians organizations.
Hearing of Long Island’s baseball popularity and its amazing community support, Collins said it was a no-brainer to ink with the club. Now, he has set his sight on helping the Ducks bring home a title to the area.
“I’ve learned of the great history of the Ducks and their amazing fanbase from so many over the years,” Gavin Collins said. “I’m excited to be a part of it now and try to bring home a championship. I’m looking forward to new relationships and lots of wins!”
