Jack Reinheimer Takes on Special Dual Role with Gastonia Ghost Peppers

Jack Reinheimer, a former New York Met, will be serving in a new, exciting dual role for the Gastonia Ghost Peppers in 2026, as he will be both a player and player development coach for the Atlantic League team, today the Ghost Peppers announced via X.

Reinheimer, 33, played with Gastonia last season, and has been part of the club since 2022 (Gastonia Honey Hunters).

Last season, the infielder batted .246 with 12 home runs, 64 RBI, 20 doubles, 67 walks, and 27 stolen bases in 419 at-bats in 113 games.

In addition to his time with the Ghost Peppers, Jack Reinheimer suited up for the MLB Arizona Diamondbacks and New York across two seasons (2017-18).

The Seattle Mariners picked the Charlotte, N.C., native in the fifth round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft out of East Carolina University (Greenville, N.C).

Also, Gastonia re-inked left-handed pitcher Nick Horvath, who struck out 78 batters to 32 bases on balls in 68.1 innings of work in 44 contests during the 2026 campaign.
