From Lake Country to Mexico: Ryan Hernandez’s Baseball Journey Continues

Ryan Hernandez of the Lake Country DockHounds of the American Association pf Professional Baseball had his contract transferred to the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League, yesterday the league announced via X.

The 6-foot-5, 239-pound slugging first baseman and designated hitter was the triple crown leader with a .376 average, 14 longballs, and 44 RBI in 125 at-bats in 32 contests before his transfer to the Mexican League.

Hernandez, 27, batted .249 with 18 home runs, 50 RBI, 21 doubles, .473 slugging percentage, and 853 OPS in 334 at-bats in 89 games with Acereros de Monclova last season.

After a strong year with the Cleburne Railroaders of the American Association, the Los Angeles Angels purchased his contract in 2023, and he suited up for High-A Tri-City with the Dust Devils.

Hernadez began his college baseball career at Albany but later transferred to the University of Houston. After three strong campaigns with the stick, he took his skills to the MLB Draft League in 2022 and joined the West Virginia Black Bears.
