It’s easy to see why rising high school senior Cole Anthony is one the most sought-after college basketball recruits in the country after capturing the 2018 NIKE EYBL (Elite Youth Basketball League) regular season Most Valuable Player award, the league announced last week.
The Pro Scholar Athlete (PSA) point guard, who is arguably the best high school player in nation at his position, averaged 26.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game across 16 games during the spring/summer season.
Top college Division-I basketball programs such as Kentucky, Oregon, Miami, Wake Forest, Pittsburg, and Iona, among several others, are recruiting the five-star Archbishop Molloy High School product, according to several media outlets.
Son of former 14-year NBA hoopster Greg Anthony, the younger Anthony has the lineage, and abilities, to succeed on a high Division-I college hardwood floor. Plus, dare I say possible NBA talent? Who knows? But the six-foot-three New Yorker is an undeniable gifted baller and seems like an overall fine young man who displays a fiery passion for the sport.
Those are two innate intangibles that may drive Anthony to basketball prosperity in the future.
