The Vikings were facing a solid team in the form of Morristown-Beard on Tuesday night at home.
Fortunately for Villa Walsh, it was able to lean on one of its better players, senior guard Daniella Jambrina, who dropped a game-high 16 points en route to a 39-24 victory against the Crimson, that extended its winning streak to seven games.
In addition to Jambrina’s scoring output, she grabbed four rebounds, dished three assists and made three steals in the victory.
Although Morristown led 10-9 in the first quarter, the second period told a different story, as the Vikings outscored their opposition, 12-4, for a 21-14 halftime advantage.
Villa Walsh (9-2, 5-1 NJAC) refused to relinquish that lead in the second half, as it played well enough to secure the win.
Energetic point guard Grace McKenna contributed 11 points, two assists, and two steals while senior Karin Brett had another fine tilt with eight points, four boards, two helpers, and eight steals to help upend the Crimson.
Junior Erin Martin led Morristown-Beard (7-3) with 15 points and Addisyn Ibrahim added 12 in the loss.
