The Gastonia Ghost Peppers have signed Anthony Prato, a former Minnesota Twins prospect and Poly Prep Country Day School (Brooklyn, N.Y.) infielder, for the 2026 Atlantic League campaign, yesterday the team announced via X.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Prato–a Brooklyn, N.Y., native–spent six seasons in the Twins’ system, hitting .258 with 31 home runs, 204 RBI, 97 doubles, 82 stolen bases and .387 OBP in 1746 at-bats in 542 games.
Minnesota selected the 27-year-old in the seventh round of the 2019 MLB June Amateur Draft out of the University of Connecticut (UConn), where he suited up for three years.
The Ghost Peppers also inked left-handed pitcher Jake Rice, 28, and ex MLB catcher Chandler Seagle, 29, who had one at-bat in the “Bigs” with San Diego Padres.
