New Jersey’s Otega Oweh Leaves Oklahoma for Kentucky Basketball


Former University of Oklahoma and Blair Academy (N.J.) guard Otega Oweh is transferring to Division I Kentucky Men’s basketball program, yesterday he announced on X, formerly Twitter.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Newark, N.J., native averaged 11.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in his sophomore season as a Sooner.

Oweh held over 23 D-1 college hoops offers before committing to Oklahoma.

A standout high school basketball, Oweh drained 433 points and grabbed 191 boards in 29 tilts (14.9 ppg and 6.6 rpg) in the 2019-2020 campaign with Ruthers Prep. He also suited up for AAU basketball squad Team Final Nike EYBL.

Oklahoma posted a 20-12 overall mark and went 8-10 in Big 10 Conference action this past college basketball season.
