Baltimore Ravens Pluck Adisa Isaac in 3rd Round of NFL Draft

It is not often that I get to cover high level burgeoning athletes while getting to know them on a personal level.

But for three years, I had the pleasure of watching Adisa Isaac develop into a top-notch high school football player at Canarsie High School in Brooklyn while becoming a stellar young man who would go onto play defensive end at Penn State University.

Last night, it all came to fruition for Isaac, as the Baltimore Ravens selected him in the third round, 93rd overall, of the 2024 NFL Draft, making a dream come true for him and his family.

Kyle Allen–his coach at Canarsie High School for three years, and now at the helm at August Martin, became a driving force behind his success and personal growth–could not be happier for his former star player. Allen gushed on X of how proud he is of him.

While he attended college and played his heart out as a Nittany Lion, he always made time for his family, helping his mother. A special education teacher, take care of his three non-verbal, special needs siblings.

Moreover, I cannot wait to see the 6-foot-4, 249-pound Isaac suit up for the Ravens and go after the quarterback with a steely-eyed determination that helped him make 37 tackles (23 solo), 16 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, four quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery as a senior at Penn State.

Now, Isaac will continue to prepare himself for the big-time gridirons of the NFL ranks.

That is not bad for a kid who first took up football as a lanky 13-year-old at Canarsie High School.
