Serbian Big Man Nikola Dapa Leaves LIU for Colorado State Basketball

Former Long Island University (LIU) freshman forward/center Nikola Đapa, who hails from Belgrade, Serbia, today is transferring to Division I Colorado State University Men’s basketball program, per X posts.

The 7-foot, 230-pound Dapa, who attended Hoosac School in Hoosick, N. Y., averaged 6.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game with 17 blocks and 16 steals last season with the Sharks.

Dapa comes with a nice basketball pedigree, as his dad played professional hoops in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia.

Colorado State posted a 25-11 record and went 10-8 Mountain West Conference action in the 2023-24 campaign. The Rams made it the second round of the NCAA D-1 Tournament, in which No. 7 Texas defeated them, 55-46.
