The Florida State League has named Low Single-A St. Lucie Met infielder Jesus Baez, the New York Mets’ 14th-ranked minor league prospect, to its All-Star squad, today the team announced on X, formerly Twitter.
Baez, 19, batted .262., slashing .338/.444/.782 with 10 home runs, 39 RBI, 14 doubles and eight stolen bases in 64 games.
Additionally, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound Baez spent eight contests with the Advanced Single-A Brooklyn Cyclones, hitting .267 with one longball and four RBI in 30 at-bats after his promotion.
However, he suffered a season-ending torn meniscus injury in his right knee in early July, which required surgery to repair.
Baez captured the organization’s Dominican Summer League Player of the Year award after slashing .242/.341/.403 with seven homers across 54 tilts on the international complex circuit in 2022.
