Thurgood Marshall Academy Class of 2025 Guard Ahmad Torrence Chooses Norfolk State Hoops

Class of 2025 Thurgood Marshall Academy (Manhattan, N.Y.) guard Ahmad Torrence has verbally committed to Division I Norfolk State, he recently announced on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The 6-foot-5 Harlem. N.Y., native, who also suited up for the NY Lightning AAU program, held offers from Manhattan, Norfolk State, Fordham, Northern Illinois and Chicago State, per VerbalCommits.com.

Plus, Torrence held an offer from the now-defunct St. Francis Brooklyn Terries, who no longer have an athletic program.

Torrence averaged 17.85 points, 6.35 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game in 14 regular season Public School Athletic League (PSAL) contests. He added 15.75, 5.50 boards and 6.25 helpers per tilt in four postseason games.

The Spartans posted a 24-11 overall mark and went 11-3 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in the 2023-24 campaign.
