Hun School’s Sage Mateo Selects Cornell for Division I Basketball

Class of 2026 Hun School of Princeton (N.J.) guard Sage Mateo has verbally committed to Division I Cornell Men’s basketball program, today he announced on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Mateo, who suited up for the New York Rens AAU basketball squad, held offers from Columbia, Brown and Cornell, according to his X account, before pledging to Big Red.

Mateo, who sports a 4.0 GPA, has scored 89 points through 11 games thus far this season.

Cornell, who plays in the Ivy League Conference, is 7-5 so far in 2024-25, and will host Penn State Schuylkill Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
