John F. Kennedy Catholic Preparatory (N.Y.) Girl’s basketball team defeated Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK, 56-47, Saturday at the Nassau Coliseum, with Ashari Emuze scoring a team-high 29 points and grabbing five rebounds for its sixth straight victory.
Junior Reese Carlo, who also suits up for NY Basketball Academy AAU squad, dropped in 13 points, while Ava Bryant contributed six points, 10 boards, three assists and four blocks in the win.
JFK Catholic Prep improved to 10-3 on the 2024-25 campaign, while the Hawks evened their record at 1-1.
The Gaels will travel to Brooklyn on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. to square off against Fontbonne Hall Academy. Plainview-Old Bethpage will hit the road on Saturday, January 25th at noon for a hoops contest against Academy Charter (Long Island, N.Y.).
