St. Raymond’s Tai Turnage Chooses D1 Quinnipiac for College Hoops

Tai Turnage of St. Raymond’s High School in the Bronx today has verbally committed to Division I Quinnipiac Men’s Basketball program, per Brooklyn for Law and Tech High School basketball coach Kenny Pretlow.

Turnage, a senior three-star point guard, held offers from the likes of UMass, Seton Hall, Fordham, UAB, Mississippi State, Robert Morris, Rhode Island, Creighton, Saint Peter’s, Hofstra, UMass, Norfolk State, Bryant, among others, according to VerbalCommits.com.

Turnage is the son of current Holy Cross High School (Flushing, Queens) head coach Billy Turnage, who has also headed up St. Raymond’s and the PSAL’s Wings Academy.

The Bobcats are 18-11 overall and 14-4 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Association (MAAC) action so far this season. Quinnipiac hosts Mount St. Mary’s Thursdat at 7:00 p.m.
