Former Augusta Guard Demitri Gardner Signs with D1 Fordham Rams Hoops


Former Augusta University (DII) guard Demitri Gardner is transferring to Division I Fordham Men’s basketball program, today sports media outlets announced on X.

The 6-foot-4, 202-pound Winchester, Va., native led the Jaguars in scoring at 23.2 points per game which was 12th best in the nation after tallying 695 points as a junior this past season. As a result of his impressive year, NCAA DII had named him with the D2CCA All American Honorable Mention accolade.

Gardner also paced the team in scoring, averaging 17.5 points per game as a sophomore in the 2023-24 campaign.

He attended Handley High School in Winchester, Va., and graduated in 2021 after averaging 25.5 points and 10.1 rebounds a contest as a senior.

Additionally, Gardner earned District Player of the Year and Virginia 4A Player of the Year honors, as well as being named to the 1st Team All-State.

The Rams put up a 12-21 record and went 3-15 in Atlantic 10 Conference action in the 2024-25 season.
