The Kane County Cougars have re-signed Staten Island native and right-handed pitcher Vin Timpanelli for the 2026 American Association–an MLB partner league–season, today the league announced on X.
Timpanelli, a former Cincinnati Reds farmhand, finished second on Kane County with 77 strikeouts, 104.2 innings pitched, and seven wins in 2025, while helping the Cougars capture their second straight AA title.
Also, he tossed two scoreless frames in Kane County’s win in the team’s opener in the Baseball Champions League in April in Mexico.
The former Tottenville High School (Staten Island, N.Y.) baseball player reached as high as the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Overall, Timpanelli posted a solid 4.32 ERA in 166.2 innings across four campaigns in Cincinnati’s minor league system.
