Engelhard spent 2024 with the Thunder, where he clubbed four longballs and 21 RBI with six doubles and a triple along with a .242 batting average in 132 at-bats in 35 contests.

Engelhard, 24, suited up for Florida International University (FIU) and Tulane, hitting .274 with 16 home runs, 104 RBI, and 16 stolen bases in 571 at-bats in 163 games in four years of college.

Canaries’ manager Mike Meyer said he values what Engelhard did on the college diamond, as well as his playing tools and intangibles.

“Chase is a high-level competitor who has performed at strong Division I programs,” Meyer said in a press release. “He brings a polished bat with upside, good instincts in the middle infield, and the kind of makeup we value in our clubhouse. We’re excited to add him to our roster.”
