Carson Benge, the New York Mets 2024 MLB Draft first round pick, had a strong debut with the St. Lucie Mets, reaching base four times with three walks and two stolen bases. St. Lucie won 4-3 against the Daytona Tortugas. Yohairo Cuevas and Edgar Moreta also performed well.

Ranked 22nd on the Mets' prospect list, the 19-year-old Dominican player's progress will be tested in Brooklyn. Signed in 2022 for $275,000, he has potential for development.
Right-handed pitcher Kade Morris has been promoted to the High-A Brooklyn Cyclones from the St. Lucie Mets after posting a 0-3 record with 3.63 ERA with 1.30 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 34.2 innings of work.
First baseman Chris Suero launched a solo home run in the game. Baez went 3-5 with a run scored, while outfielder Nick Morabito, New York's No. 26 prospect, put up a 3-4 performance with an RBI and run scored.
