
The Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues which constitute the Canadian Hockey League, yesterday selected Morristown-Beard’s Nick Vantassell, a sophomore on the Crimson hockey team, in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection Draft.Â
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The Spitfires picked Vantassell in the 14th round, 280th overall. The six-foot, 154-pound center tallied 16 goals and 19 assists in the 2019-20 New Jersey high school hockey season.
Additionally, the Baskin Ridge resident helped Mo-Beard to a 20-5-1 record and captured the Mennen Cup with a 5-1 win over Randolph, a game in which he scored a marker and chipped in with a helper.
Vantassell also plays for the New Jersey Rockets Hockey Club 15.Â
The OHL is for players aged 16–21. There are currently 20 teams in the OHL; seventeen in Ontario, two in Michigan, and one in Pennsylvania.
