After leading La Salle Women’s basketball program in scoring with 10.9 points per game in 30 contests, freshman Nicole Melious today is entering the transfer portal, according to multiple sports media outlets.
Melious, a former star basketball player at Wagner High School on Staten Island, made Atlantic-10’s All Rookie 1st team. The 5-foot-8 guard was fifth in the A-10 in three pointers made and top 50 in all of the NCAA Women’s basketball.
Melious holds the New York City High School all-time single season scoring record, boy’s and girl’s, with 1,137 points, which she established in the 2022-23 campaign.
She finished her PSAL career with an impressive 3,140 points in three seasons at Wagner High School. Additionally, Melious is New York City’s leading career three-point shooter with 410 made shots from beyond the arc.
