The Milwaukee Brewers yesterday selected Trenton Thunder (MLB Draft League) infielder and son of Hall of Famer CC Sabathia, Carsten Sabathia III, in the 20th round of the MLB Draft, today his team announced on X.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Sabathia, a first baseman, recorded eight hits, four of which were doubles, and drove in eight runs while with the Thunder.
Additionally, he smacked a .283 batting average with six home runs and 18 RBI, resulting in an .885 OPS. He also added 26 hits and 14 runs scored in 92 at-bats in 37 games as a senior at the University of Houston.
A Bergen Catholic High School graduate, he clubbed .363 for 33 hits, eight doubles, a triple and four home runs, while driving in 30 runs in his senior year at the New Jersey school.
His dad, the older Sabathia, spent 19 seasons in the MLB with three different teams, including the New York Yankees and Brewers.
During his MLB career, CC captured a World Series ring with New York in 2009, was the 2007 Cy Young Award winner, and finished second in the 2001 AL Rookie of the Year voting.
Also, he was a six-time All-Star and won ALCS MVP as a pitcher.
